Thanks Liz, We're fairly lucky in that the residents in the main are all church goers in the small village and the others don't complain. But I've rung in some churches where we have to lock ourselves in to ring. And others where people shout up to us to stop because they are having a BBQ. I say, they have to expect it if they want to live next to a church with bells. I think it's a lovely sound done properly. We have heard the recorded bells too - it's a shame. We're finding a few new younger ringers to keep the tradition going though. My significant other has rung full peals and tells me it's quite something. I'm ok with the rope changing thingy so I might give it a go. Cheers ewis x
